Collection: Ali Akbar Mehta
Ali Akbar Mehta is a Mumbai-based artist who lives and works in the city. He holds a BFA in Painting from Sir J.J. School of Art, Mumbai. Mehta has presented solo exhibitions including Of Men and Supermen at the India Art Festival, Mumbai (2012), and The Ballad of the War that Never Was, and Other Bastardized Myths at TAO Art Gallery, Mumbai (2011). His work has been featured in several significant group exhibitions across India and internationally, with venues such as TAO Art Gallery, SPACE 118, Art Heritage (New Delhi), Galerie Mirchandani + Steinruecke, Osmosis Art Gallery, and Unicorn Art Gallery in Dubai, alongside participation in notable charity auctions and travelling exhibitions. Beyond painting, Mehta has also explored film and performance, including the stop-motion animation short Luminous Matter (2011) and collaborative performance and documentary projects associated with Sir J.J. School of Art.
